Who is Paxton?

Yojinde E. Paxton, M Ed. (Paxton) has been working with individuals with disabilities for close to two decades. As the CEO and Founder of Paxton Education Consulting, she has served the District of Columbia and Maryland areas in various capacities as general and special education teachers, IEP chair, Special Education Advocate/Consultant and also Compliance Monitor. Ms. Paxton holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Morgan State University in Public Relations, a Master’s degree in Education from The George Washington University in Emotional and Behavioral Disabilities and a Post Graduate Certificate from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Applied Behavioral Analysis.

She is— and will always see herself as — an educator. Paxton began her career as a general and special education teacher and eventually became a Special Education Advocate and Consultant. Paxton worked at James E. Brown and Associates law firm in Washington, DC as an Advocate where she worked relentlessly to ensure that special education students received the appropriate academic and behavioral supports that they so desperately needed. Paxton has provided expert testimony in hundreds of Due Process hearings in DC and Maryland. In 2010, she opened her own education consulting business, Paxton Education Consulting and has represented hundreds of families in the Washington DC and Baltimore metropolitan areas in search of appropriate services. She has provided professional development and consultation to various outside agencies agencies and attorneys both locally and nationally.
